Danni Menzies shared video footage of her triumphant comeback in the months since a moped driver “lost control” last Christmas, spinning onto the pavement and knocking her down.
The incident had left Danni’s mental health in tatters, with the A Place in the Sun star confessing she’d cried “every day” for three weeks and that her facial injuries were so severe she could no longer use the facial recognition technology on her iPhone.
However, Danni looked at peace in her new Instagram video, which depicted the star jet-skiing, parasailing, skiing and even riding horses in the ocean.
“After what happened last year I really didn’t think I’d be able to work again like I have,” the Heart FM Breakfast Radio star captioned the image.
In view of her followers, she continued: “Don’t get me wrong, there were some real dark times to get [through] here.
She continued: “But I am SO grateful for the opportunities and I feel like I’m rising from the ashes. Excited for what’s next.”
Danni’s love for horses shines through repeatedly in the video montage.
She has been an equestrian fanatic ever since she was in her teens, having set up a horse rescue company at her Perthshire home pre-fame.
She credits horses with boosting her confidence and curing her teenage episodes of agoraphobia, and they seem to be doing an equally good job of helping her heal from her most recent accident.
In one scene from the video, the 35-year-old can be seen cuddling a horse in front of the camera while clad in a bright pink swimsuit.
Other footage displays her clambering onto some rocks before diving dramatically into the sea, and even waving kettle bells triumphantly above her head after a fitness session.
Danni has an exciting and as yet undisclosed new project coming up, and has let it be known that, despite a wobbly start to the year, she has no intention of quitting TV.
She was quickly inundated with supportive words in the comments section after sharing her happy news.
“It’s brilliant – just carry on upwards!” @1sjury exclaimed.
“Phoenix from the ashes. Proud of you boss girl, your star is still rising xxx,” @tamara_wellbeing added.
