aadhaar: How to check which bank account is linked with Aadhaar

Linking Aadhaar with one’s bank account is mandatory if an individual wishes to avail benefits of various government schemes and scholarships. Recently more than 12,000 students in Himachal Pradesh failed to get their scholarship amounts for 2022-23 as they did not link their Aadhaar with their savings bank accounts, according to a news report by the Times of India.

On the ‘myAadhaar’ portal of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), an individual can check which bank account of theirs is linked with their Aadhaar number. According to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) rules if an individual has multiple bank accounts only one can be linked with Aadhaar. Multiple bank accounts cannot be linked with the same Aadhaar.
