Aldi reveals $249 LED face mask in Special Buys

Aldi is selling a cult beauty tool for the fraction of the cost of other brands – but not everyone can get over how “strange” it looks.

If you’re obsessed with all things beauty then chances are you’ve heard of light therapy masks.

They work by using different LED wavelengths to treat a number of skin issues from fine lines or pimples.
While there are cheaper versions that start around the $70 mark, the most expensive – and highly rated by skincare specialists – can cost upwards of $600.

It’s why skincare fans have been excited by the news that Aldi is selling a light therapy mask for $250 – with one shopper claiming it’s similar to another version that sells for $550 elsewhere.

Next Wednesday, the German supermarket will be selling the Illumia Skin LED Face Mask pro as part of its Special Buys – but the good part is, you won’t have to line up.

Instead the mask will be available to purchase online via Aldi’s website.

The mask comes with seven different coloured light options which treat pigmentation, fine lines, acne as well as promoting collagen production.

Posting in Aldi Mums, one beauty therapist light therapy masks were “amazing” for treating skin concerns.

“I’ve got an expensive brand and the wavelengths are the same FYI,” another shopper said of the Aldi mask.

“The Peppy Co only has three modes, this one has 8, and the wavelengths are similar to the high end ones which cost over $550!” one person also commented.

“I can’t wait until this product is available! I will definitely be getting one! From what I’ve read and researched, this product is the same as the Aduro one available in the market,” another person wrote in the Aldi Fans Australia Facebook group.

But others weren’t convinced, saying that it was a bit, ahem, “strange” looking.

“I just want to see pics of people wearing it,” one person quipped.

“Bit expensive for a Halloween mask,” another joked.

“Looks like something out of a horror movie……it would have its work cut out trying to improve my old face,” one shopper wrote.
