Sitcoms such as Only Fools and Horses, Peep Show and My Family have become a staple in British culture and are loved just as strongly now as when they first aired.
Die hard fans of My Family will have rejoiced now that the popular sitcom that lasted for eleven series from 2000, is returning to our screens.
The sitcom focused on the trials and tribulations of the middle-class Harper family in Chiswick, West London.
The BBC have decided to air the comedy again with episode five from series 2 showing on Tuesday (September 21) following the family’s staycation in Leeds to attend the funeral of Aunt Margaret and just like what you can usually expect – chaos arises.
Actress Siobhan Hayes was amongst the cast alongside Kris Marshall who played Nick Harper, Zoe Wanamaker (Susan Harper), Robert Lindsay, Daniela Denby-Ashe, Gabriel Thomson, and Keiron Self.
Siobhan joined the cast in series two as clumsy Abi, the daughter of Ben’s cousin Richard, and later left the show after series 8.
In 2005, she was featured in the third series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing but was sadly the first to go.
Three years later, she joined EastEnders as Melinda, Ricky Butcher’s latest partner but before that, she played a minor role on the soap in 1991 as a character called Jane.
The actress also had three different roles on The Bill in the years from 1992 until 2000.
Her recent credits include Holby City, starring in the Horrid Henry Movie and Doctors.
My Family airs Tuesday (September 21) on BBC One at 8:30pm.
