Brisbane snake attack: Capalaba teenager taken to hospital after suspected python bite at home

A teenager is in hospital after suffering a suspected snake bite at a Brisbane home, with health authorities still trying to confirm the species of reptile.

Health authorities are still trying to confirm the species of snake that bit a Brisbane teenager in his home early on Thursday morning, but all clues point towards a python.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics had taken a male in his late teens to Redlands Hospital after he was bitten on the hand by a snake just after 7am.

The snake is believed to be non-venomous but was yet to be found at the Capalaba residence.

The teenager was in a stable condition and being checked over by health experts.

The incident follows another snakebite in Gulf Country on Tuesday, with a male aged in his 80s taken to Proserpine Hospital in a stable condition after a reported bite to the arm on private property near Gregory River.
