star has revealed that both she and her now-husband Iwan Lewis were reduced to tears during their “fairytale” wedding ceremony two weeks ago.

The actress, who portrayed fan favourite character Kate Connor on the soap, has tied the knot with her former co-star.

The pair, who both starred in the touring producing of Legally Blonde the musical, were friends for over a decade before finally getting together.

Speaking about seeing Faye for the first time in her princess-style gown with a gorgeous train and veil, Iwan told OK! Magazine that it was as if their “relationship condensed into one explosive moment”.

He said: “I was overawed with emotion. I was as cool as a cucumber and kept going up to people saying, ‘My hand is so steady.’

“But as soon as she started coming down the aisle I could feel the energy build and I couldn’t hold it together at all.

“Then when Faye started crying, I started crying,” he added. “But as soon as we went into the service, we were really laser-focused.”

Faye added: “I couldn’t look at anybody else but Iwan, because everybody else there overwhelmed me – I could feel their energy, I could feel how excited they were.

“I was overcome with emotion when my dad gave me away and seeing Iwan cry as well. It is a rare moment to see him cry, and when he does, it’s beautiful.

“Once we were into our vows and locked eyes, I said to him it’s as if time stood still and nobody else was there.”

Faye looked gorgeous as she wed the love of her life in a stunning church ceremony, which took place in front of their 200 nearest and dearest.

The spectacular occasion also featured a performance from Faye’s former Corrie co-star Victoria Ekanoye and a huge firework display.

The star married her theatre producer husband on August 23 in a 13th-century church, St John The Baptist, in the village of Shipton Moyne, Gloucestershire.

Her five bridesmaids included her sisters Nicky and Jodie, and close friends Djalenga, Sophie and Rebecca.
