Diljit Dosanjh wraps the shoot of Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra’s biopic | Punjabi Movie News

Diljit Dosanjh is one of the artists who has been known for his entertaining and engaging performances in both Pollywood and Bollywood. On one hand, where his comic timing is highly lauded by the fans, his ability to bring real-life characters on the reel is equally impressive. His work in ‘Punjab 1984’, which was based on the real-life events of the 1984’s, his character touched hearts, and his portrayal of a soldier in ‘Sajjan Singh Rangrool’ is another example of his intense acting. And now, very soon he will be seen essaying the role of the real-life human activist Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra.

Though the release date or any official poster of the movie has not been revealed, Diljit recently taking to his social media handle mentioned that the film’s shoot has been wrapped. He also added that playing this character, in particular, was one of the most challenging parts of his career.

Sharing a picture of him in the look of his character, Diljit Dosanjh wrote – “Karan Karawan Apey Aap 🙏🏽Till Date This has been My Career’s Toughest and Most Challenging Role. Wrapping up with Lots Of Emotions in My Heart 🙏🏽 Gratitude & Respect for @honeytrehan Bhaji 🙏🏽 Sarbat Da Bhalaa 🙏🏽”

This post of Diljit garnered a lot of love. Many of the industry colleagues also appreciated Diljit. Actor Jagjeet Sandhu also commented on the post. He wrote – “Sachi bhaji tohada a character menu Personally sab to wadiya lagga, tusi boht mehnat kiti iste oh saaf dikhdi hai..a film v loka nu lamma sma yaad rahegi..Rab mehnat nu bhaag lawe 👏👏”

Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra was a human rights activist, who collected information about the Sikh men who went missing after Operation Blue Star. He was last in 1995 outside of his house. According to the witness account, he was abducted by the policemen. The officials initially denied all allegations, but later the investigation found some evidence at the Tarn Taran police station. The officers who were found guilty in the matter were given life sentences.

Further, the Khalra family was approached by many filmmakers who wanted to make a biopic on the late activist. However, it was Honey Tehran and Diljit Dosanjh, who were able to convenience the family finally.
