Matthew noted that by the time Julia had actually appeared on Friends, they were in the depths of a romantic relationship.
While the relationship seemed idyllic, Matthew was still struggling with his addictions and had a growing feeling that their romance was doomed.
He admitted she “had been too much for me” and decided to break up with the Hollywood star after just a few months, convincing himself to do it before she broke up with him.
Matthew noted: “I can’t begin to describe the look of confusion on her face.”
Matthew’s memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, is available to purchase here.
