Liquor store on Chicago’s Northwest Side near O’Hare Airport broken into as burglars steal cash register


CHICAGO (WLS) — A group of thieves smashed the front glass door of a liquor store on Chicago’s Northwest Side Wednesday morning, police said.

Police said four suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts, gloves and masks broke into the store at about 3:55 a.m. in the 4600-block of North Cumberland Avenue.

Once inside, the surveillance video shows them stealing a cash register and trying to get the ATM., but it was bolted to the floor.

The suspects fled in an SUV, possibly a Jeep. No injuries were reported and no one is in custody. Area Five detectives are investigating.
