Loose Women star Charlene White has praised her ITV co-stars, gushing about their amazing friendship. The 43 year old newsreader, who joined the panel of the ITV daytime show in 2021, dismissed rumours of behind-the-scenes feuds.
Speaking at the MOBO Awards 2024, Charlene shared her experience working on the programme.
She told The Mirror: “It’s a bunch of mates having a laugh. A lot of times they cut back to the studio after an ad break and we’re all still laughing… I’m lucky to work with an incredible bunch of women.”
Charlene also spoke about the camaraderie among the team. “We all have fun… Every morning we have our meeting together, it’s a room full of joy and laughter… It’s a room full of friendship and a room full of compassion, we care a lot about each other.”
Recently, Charlene opened up about her time on the show, saying she’s “loved” the three years she’s been part of it. Speaking to Women’s Own, she expressed her excitement at welcoming Love Island’s Olivia Attwood and model Christine McGuinness to the panel.
Charlene couldn’t be more thrilled that her new best mate, Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver, has joined the Loose Women gang. The two became close pals on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2022. Charlene likes to think she had a part in bringing Sue, 60, into the team.
Talking about Sue, Charlene said: “When we came out of the jungle a year ago, I said to Sue, ‘I think you will fly if you join our Loose Women panel,’ and look at her now. She’s on tomorrow as a panellist and she fills in every now and then, which is incredible.”
Thinking ahead, Charlene sees nothing but good things for the midday programme.
She excitedly shared: “I feel like I work with some of the best women in the business who I learn from every single day. And what’s amazing is, we’re always inserting people to our stable, which means we’re learning so much about each other, and they’re still learning about us. I think what we do is brilliant and I’m really proud of what we do every day.”
