Queen Margrethe steps out in hot pink for latest appearance in Paris – pictures

Queen Margrethe II stepped out on Wednesday to attend the exhibition opening of her own paintings at the Henri Martin Museum of Cahors. The Queen of Denmark looked pretty in pink.

The 82-year-old monarch wowed in an exceptional pink gown which fell below the knee.

The dress had quarter-length sleeves and a scooped neck, designed in a broderie anglaise style.

This is characterised by patterns composed of oval holes, called eyelets.

The eyelets, which covered the dress entirely, revealed a white material underneath.

The white material was concentrated most between her bodice and hips, giving the dress some dimension.

It gathered just below the bust and again at the waist, accentuating her curves.

A dainty strip of lace separated the bodice from the skirt, which fell into soft pleats.

As for accessories, the Queen went for a simple gold chain, a gold watch and two showstoppers – a fabulous brooch and earrings.

DON’T MISS

The monarch’s brooch of choice was her Rooster Brooch, made from white and yellow gold.

It is set with an array of gemstones, including diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and one large pearl.

This brooch is a firm favourite of the royal, having been spotted wearing it on numerous occasions.

She has reportedly been in possession of the brooch for a whopping 54 years, since being gifted it in 1968.

She owns both a huge statement pair – complete with a matching brooch – and cluster daisy earrings set in gold.

For this most recent appearance, Margrethe wowed in hot pink lipstick to complement her dress and a sweep of blue eyeshadow.

She went without tights and wore a pair of sweet white sandals, boasting a tiny kitten heel.

Fans of the royal took to Instagram to compliment her latest look.

@debbiepti said: “She’s so beautiful, such a lovely, happy lady. So wonderful seeing her smiling always.”
