Eighty-one-year-old AM Naik, group chairman, L&T, met SN Subrahmanyan for the first time during a restructuring exercise to make the company’s ECC division more efficient. Since then, Naik’s trust in Subrahmanyan has deepened with the former mentoring him for over 11 years. Speaking to ET Prime, Naik tells us why and how he chose Subrahmanyan for the top job.
