Where’s the prettiest place in the UK? According to a new survey from the team at Which? Travel, there’s two destinations tied in first place.
The consumer group asked nearly 5,000 Which? members to rate their experience in Areas of Outstanding Beauty in Egland, Wales and Northern Ireland and National Scenic Areas in Scotland.
Tourists rated the areas based on peace and quiet, opportunities for wildlife spotting, facilities, food and drink, scenery, accommodation and attractions.
So where are the UK’s most beautiful staycation destinations?
According to the visitor ratings, the Isles of Scilly and the Northumberland Coast are tied in top position for the most beautiful area in the UK.
One survey respondent described Northumberland as “rugged coastline, castles, villages and wildlife”.
Rory Boland, editor of Which? Travel said: “The UK is blessed with a fantastic choice of unspoilt natural landscapes, and this year’s survey shines a light on some of the most beautiful locations these isles have to offer.
“Whether you want to explore historical sites, spot wildlife in their natural habitats or get active in nature, there’s bound to be a unique scenic area on your doorstep just waiting to be explored.”
